책소개

This book is a collection of articles I recently posted on the Facebook under the title of ‘The Millennial Kingdom’, and contains details of the Millennial Kingdom.

As a truth seeker, I reveal that I do not write from a redemptive point of view. I contemplate purely what truth can be found in the Bible. That’s because you can find any number of people who write from a redemptive point of view, and I think it is worthwhile to reveal only the truth, not the redemptive point of view.

I pray that this book will help you understand the contents of the Millennial Kingdom.

Chapter 1. Introduction

There are many terms in theology that are not in the Bible. Among them, there are many terms that even lay people know. For example, they are the ancestor of faith, the Rapture, the Sermon on the Mount, and the Golden Rule. And the ‘Millennial Kingdom’ is also not in the Bible.

Then, where did the word ‘Millennial Kingdom’ come from? That is the words of Revelation 20:4.

(Revelation 20:4, NIV)
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They[a] had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

In other words, the saints are resurrected and reign with Christ for a thousand years, which is called the Millennium, the Millennium Kingdom or the Millennial Kingdom. Let’s look at the relevant words.

(Revelation Chapter 20, NIV)
1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain.
2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.
4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison

Specifically, Satan is bound and thrown into the abyss, and the saints are resurrected(= the first resurrection) and reign with Christ for a thousand years, and it is the Millennial Kingdom.

Chapter 2. The Millennium which is recognized by 5W1H

Section 1. Who

Who participates in the Millennial Kingdom? There is a king in the kingdom. Who is the king? And if there is a king, there will be his people, but who are his people?

1) The King of the Millennial Kingdom is Jesus Christ.

2) In the Millennial Kingdom, the Martyrs are Resurrected first and Reign as kings.

The King of the Kingdom is Christ, but the resurrected martyrs will rule it with Christ. So who are the resurrected martyrs?

They are those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God, and had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands.

These may be all the saints who were martyred through the New and Old Testament eras, but the following words show that they are the saints who were martyred during the Great Tribulation.

(Revelation Chapter 6, NIV)
9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”

3) In the Millennial Kingdom, the Saints who are Resurrected at the Second Coming of the Lord also Reign.

The rest of the dead of Revelation 20:5, who did not come to life until the thousand years were ended, are the saints who died during the Great Tribulation, not the saints of the Old and New Testament eras. Because the saints of the Old and New Testament eras have already been resurrected at the Second Coming of the Lord. And the saints who was resurrected at the Second Coming of the Lord will, of course, rule the Millennial Kingdom with the Lord.

(Revelation 20:5, NIV)
(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.

4) Then who are the people?

There are two possibilities.

First, it is the possibility that the Era of the Church is the Millennial Kingdom and the martyrs rule in heaven, as the Amillennialism claims. However, the great tribulation is at the end of the church era, and those who rule with the Christ, as the Revelation says, are martyrs at the time of the great tribulation, so it is not timely that they rule in the church era. Moreover, these are those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God, and had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. So these are not the saints of the Old Testament era either. Therefore, it is confirmed here that the Amillennialism is an error.

Second, Christ returns to this earth and establishes the Millennial Kingdom, and the saints who were martyred in the great tribulation just before are resurrected (first resurrection) and reign with Christ, as the Premillennialism claims. All the saints of the Old and New Testament eras were resurrected at the Second Coming of the Lord. So those who were not be raptured and remain on earth and those who are born afterwards will become the people of the Millennial Kingdom. And those who died in the Great Tribulation will not be resurrected until the end of the Millennial Kingdom.

(Revelation 20:5, NIV)
(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.

In the above words, the first resurrection and the second resurrection are about the resurrection of the saints who died in the Great Tribulation, not about the saints of the Old and New Testament eras. For they have already been resurrected at the Lord’s Second Coming.
